In February, Mrs. McKinzie's 8th grade class entered a contest sponsored by the Catholic Campaign for Human Development. Students learned about poverty and other social injustices, and used their talents in art or writing to communicate their newly-acquired knowledge to others. At a special reception last Friday evening, the students were shocked to learn that four of them had won first, second, AND third prize for their age group! Alison won four tickets to see the Chicago White Sox and a $100 gift card. Kaylle won a $50 gift card, and Sarah and Ashley won a $25 gift card! Alison's project will go on to Washington, DC to compete with the first place winners from other cities.

The projects from our winners and the rest of our very talented students are pictured or linked below.
